Two new dolls (so far)

I love these wrapped dolls. You can wrap secret messages into the doll as you go, tie all kinds of shamanistic do-dads to them, and embellish, embellish, embellish.

I LOVE these! What do you use for a base? And is the face clay? One of the to-do's in Patti Digh's book, Life is a Verb, is to make something small to carry with you, that is special, represents things you love. I'd love to make something like this - it's so cool.
Thanks!

These faces were bisque buttons I picked up in Seattle this spring. Cool, eh? These are pipe-cleaner wrapped with a layer of mop yarn but I got 1/2 inch foam which is better. You cut that in strips and wrap the pipe cleaner, then cut strips of cloth and wrap that, then fibers. Fun!
Oh boy, do I ever need to find a copy of Life is a Verb!
