Thank you Huyen MacMichael!!

Collage by Lani, inspired by Emily Dickinson and Huyen MacMichael.

Emily Dickinson (1830–86). Complete Poems. 1924.

Part One: Life

XXXII

HOPE is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard; 5
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I ’ve heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea; 10
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

A bottle arrived with a message from Emily via Huyen!
She wrote the poem on the outside of the bottle, altered the cork so it came from Chateau MacMichael and the crane dangled from the cork! Amazing.
Lovely and inspiring!
Thank you Huyen!
